The 32 hanging floral baskets around the courthouse square earned the square Yard of the Month honors for June from the Jefferson Garden Club.
The baskets are a cooperative effort of Jefferson Matters: Main Street andthe city of Jefferson. They were hung from the light poles during a cleanup day organized by Jefferson Matters: Main Street last month. Jean Walker prepared the baskets with hardy, low maintenance plants. The city crew waters the baskets as needed.
